New joint initiative building enterprise with Mentorship Support

In the UK, Business and Enterprise Minister, Mark Prisk recently commented: “Encouraging young entrepreneurs is vital to the future economic success of the UK and it’s great to see so much enthusiasm by young people to get into business. The 'Business In You' campaign provides a showcase to inspire the next generation of start-ups and growing businesses and the Intuit 100up provides an opportunity for innovative entrepreneurs to become their own success story.  This competition will give budding entrepreneurs the chance to learn from business people who have already been there and done it before. Getting experience from a business mentor is essential, which is why we are recruiting thousands of volunteer business mentors to pass on their knowledge to the next generation.”

Speed Mentoring ... Could it Work for YOU?

I came across a short but interesting article on the topic of Speed Mentoring. 

It was posted in the Savannah Morning News and talked of approximately 80 small business owners and operators who got together to learn from more than a dozen business executives.

I usually think of a Mentorship relationship being of a longer duration, but it sounds like those involved did receive some good information to help them move forward.

The particular event was held in the Savannah Morning News auditorium, and was sponsored by SCORE. Participants had 25 minutes to meet with a mentor on a particular subject and then they moved on to a new topic.
